Each year the residents of Topanga are called upon by the Topanga Town Council to nominate fellow citizens they feel selflessly serve the community of Topanga.  This is a tradition that has been going on for decades.

The Topanga Town Council would like to congratulate all of you on your nomination, and we thank you from the bottom of our heart for your hard work that serves the entire canyon.

Town Council President Stacy Sledge (right) and Secretary Rebecca Goldfarb (left) present Vincent Baldino (center) with this year’s Topanga Spirit Award. The award honors one individual each year who “exemplifies the heart of volunteerism.”

Topanga is a unique living environment.  We have so many different and eclectic life styles and goals.  But one thing we have in common:  we truly support each other in good times and bad times.  When someone is sick, volunteers are there to help; when someone’s home has burned down, volunteers help rebuild; when the town is threatened, volunteers come to its aide.

Volunteers also are inventive when it comes to fundraising, getting the word out, and definitely when celebrating.  All these actions are given in the spirit of volunteerism.  This town could not operate without the selfless dedication of so many who give their time, energy, blood, sweat, tears and their own money to keep our town running.
