The Topanga Town Council - Still Going Strong!

ttc logo 130x130For over 40 years, the Topanga Town Council (TTC) has proudly served the local interests of the residents, businesses, property owners, environment and wildlife in Topanga Canyon, and looks forward to serving you in now and in the future.

The Town Council acts on your behalf in many ways—from appearing at County hearings on land development and water issues, to serving on local committees for emergency preparedness, safety and environmental causes in our canyon, to developing community communication tools such as OneTopanga.com. The Council is very active assisting our homeless, seniors and youth by supporting various local organizations in their efforts to collectively improve quality of life in our canyon.

The Town Council is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(4) non-profit organization that exists because of resident, landowner and business owner participation. All of our programs were born from community concerns and requests.

Thank you for making the Topanga Access Card part of your emergency preparedness program.  The Access Card is more effective than other forms of ID because, 1) it gives access to children, elderly and disabled adults, 2) expedites entry by ZONE NUMBER when officers deem it safe to return to the canyon, 3) has vital information on the backside of the card that can aid in emergencies.  All proceeds from the cards help fund many community projects.  Learn about it here: Committees, Projects & Programs.

I.  FIRST-TIME RESIDENT APPLICANTS:
Along with your completed registration form (online or pdf downloadable form), mail or email a passport photo (2"x2"), along with a copy of your driver's license or state ID, and one of the types of address verification if your driver's license does not include your current Topanga address (utility bill, bank or mortgage statement, or lease).  Also, include a $12 payment per applicant payable to: Topanga Town Council, PO Box 1085, Topanga, CA, 90290.

Note: Please do not send a scanned copy of your actual passport, but the separate photo used to apply for a passport. This is what we're looking for: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/photos.html

II.  A RESIDENT'S CAREGIVER ACCESS CARD:

Downtown Banner Poles

TOPANGA TOWN COUNCIL'S DOWNTOWN BANNER POLE PROGRAM

The banner program is intended to provide pride in the community, add color and excitement to Topanga’s streetscape, promote community activities, special events, and other cultural or sporting activities, as well as promote programs important to the town’s image, economic interest and organizations serving the community.  Special rental pricing is given to local Topanga non-profit organizations.

Only a nonprofit organization may request permission to place banners for the purpose of promoting the organization or a special event that is held in or around Topanga, CA and be open to the public, or have a common interest to the general community, or recognize and/or contribute to the cultural fabric of the Town.

Banners may not advertise or promote commercial products or services, or religious, political or social viewpoints; however, sponsorship names are allowed on the banners, but are subject to restrictions and design. There must be a direct connection between the banner design and the event.

There are four (4) banner poles located on non-County property, street-side at 141 South Topanga Canyon Blvd at the General Creek Shopping Center, Topanga, CA.  Banners are 3’x8’ vertical format.  A permit is not required for use.

To request banner pole rental information and pricing, please email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Funds collected from banner pole rentals go toward programs and projects benefiting Topanga. Click here to see a list of current Topanga Town Council programs & projects.

Volunteer

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY – BECOME A TOWN COUNCIL VOLUNTEER!

Friends of the Council

The Friends of the Topanga Town Council (volunteers) was created so individuals of all ages could contribute to Topanga Canyon, but not to invest a vast amount of time doing so. This organization is designed so people can contribute individually—as much or as little as they want; but collectively to make a tremendous impact on our community.

Friends of the Council are people inside and outside of the canyon—homeowners, renters, business owners, parents, retirees, hipsters, artists, students and friends—who are working together to create and maintain a vibrant community. They are people who bring fresh perspectives, new resources and continued enthusiasm into Topanga—making it a vital and thriving community.

Being a volunteer can be an occasional or routine commitment—whatever you please. You pick the project or position that brings out your talent or desire of service. Being a Friend is a very flexible position that has few demands of time and no (or limited) meetings.

So, come on and get involved! Keep your finger on the pulse of what's going on in our canyon by volunteering. It’s a great way to network, get the latest and greatest in the canyon, and meet new friends. The Town Council is grateful for any amount of time you wish to give. We look forward to meeting YOU!

Become a Board Member

Or, if you want to make a larger contriburion, volunteer by becoming a Board Member. There are special requirements for Board Member participation.

Expedites Entry by Zone for all Residents:
The Access Card displays your ZONE Number which will expedite re-entry when CHP and Sheriff’s Dept. deem it safe.

Has Vital Emergency Contact Information at Your Fingertips:
Important numbers are printed on the backside to aid in emergencies.

License Plate Holders

THE TOPANGA LICENSE PLATE FRAMES made its debut several decades ago as a fun way to promote our town and help fund Topanga Town Council programs and projects. Since that time, hundreds of frames have been sold and can be seen displayed on local cars.

Today, the Town Council is also offering a new frame design to show off resident civic pride or for you to give as a gift.

We thank you for helping support important programs that serve the Topanga community! To see how your donation helps Topanga's special causes, click here.
