Old Canyon Roadway Improvement Project
OLD CANYON AND FERNWOOD COMMUNITIES ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS
Dear Neighbor:
The County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works is pleased to inform you of an upcoming important roadway improvement project in your neighborhood.
Within the next few weeks, work will begin on Topanga Skyline Drive, Vesey Road, Jando Drive, Basin Drive, and Cave Way in the County unincorporated communities of Old Canyon and Fernwood (see maps on the reverse side). The project, which will be built at no cost to the adjacent property owners, will consist of resurfacing and reconstruction of the existing roadway pavement. The work will be performed by Terra Pave, Inc., and is expected to take about 2 months to complete.
During construction, parking may be restricted and traffic will be delayed by large equipment and the delivery of materials to the job site. Temporary "NO PARKING" signs will be posted along the construction route at least 1 day prior to the arrival of the work crew to your area. During construction working hours between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Topanga Skyline Drive, Vesey Road, Jando Drive, Basin Drive, and Cave Way may be closed to through traffic. However, access to homes will be maintained by the contractor except for short periods of time when it is impractical to do so. Please observe all traffic controls, parking restrictions, flagmen, and exercise caution while in the vicinity of all construction activities. No work will be performed on "Red Flag" fire alert days unless authorized by the Fire Department.
Throughout construction, Public Works will have Mr. Daryl Hamilton, Construction Supervisor, in charge of the project. He may be contacted at (626) 607-7430, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for any questions or concerns that you may have about this project. American Legion The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic, mutual-help war-time veteran’s organization. The American Legion is a community-service organization, which now numbers nearly 3 million members.

Canyon Sages (TTC) The Canyon Sages, sponsored by the Topanga Town Council, provides services and social programs for Topanga seniors of any age.

CERT The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) assists with the provision of emergency medical triage and care in the event of a major emergency or disaster.

City Hearts City Hearts: Kids Say "Yes" to the Arts is an arts-based program of crime and delinquency prevention dedicated to building humanity, self-esteem and love of learning for our community's most at-risk and impoverished children. City Hearts is a non-profit organization.

Disaster Radio Team (DRT) The Disaster Radio Team (DRT) is a group within the Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness (T-CEP) that focuses on communications during an emergency. It is responsible for maintaining a radio communications network and radio room at the EOC and for Red Cross Damage Assessment. During an emergency, the DRT also sends out Top of the Hour Reports available to anyone with a FRS radio.
